During their October 25, 2005 Meeting, the Harbison Community Association Board of Directors voted to establish the Lester Gross Harbison Community Association Award. The Award recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding individuals who have made substantial and distinctive contributions to the betterment of the Harbison Community. These contributions demonstrate service, leadership, and vision which are symbolic of Lester’s service to the Harbison ideal. In the February 2013 Board meeting, the Board expanded the eligibility to include “…individuals and/or organizations…”.
It is now time to start the nomination process for a 2018 candidate. Past or present HCA Members may submit a letter of nomination and supporting documentation to Ms. Betty (“Cookie”) Brooks prior to the next regular Meeting of the Board of Directors on
February 27, 2018.
To be eligible for nomination the individual and / or organization must have:
- Lived or worked in the Harbison Community or served as a volunteer in service to Harbison
- Actively contributed energy, time, talent, resources, and / or support to the community
Once selected, the individual(s) shall be honored during the Annual Meeting of the Harbison Community Association in April. Recognition shall include the following:
- Presentation from the HCA Board properly honoring the inductee(s)
- Placement of the inductee’s name or organization’s name on a permanent Lester Gross Harbison Community Service Award plaque to be on display in the Community Center Lobby.
